Donny Dhirgantoro

Donny Dhirgantoro is an Indonesian novelist best known for his debut novel 5cm: Aku, Kamu, Samudera, dan Bintang-Bintang, published in 2005. The book became a major bestseller in Indonesia and has remained a beloved title for over a decade and a half.

5cm follows a group of five close friends who, after years of routine, embark on a journey to climb Mount Semeru, Java's highest peak. The novel's themes of friendship, dreams, and perseverance struck a chord with Indonesian readers, and it was later adapted into a highly successful feature film, cementing its place as a modern classic of Indonesian popular literature.
