Haruki Murakami

Haruki Murakami is a Japanese novelist and one of the most widely translated and internationally read authors of his generation. His fiction is known for its blend of everyday realism with surreal, dreamlike elements, often explored through themes of loneliness, memory, and longing.

Among his best-known works is Norwegian Wood, a coming-of-age novel set in 1960s Tokyo that became a major bestseller in Japan and introduced many international readers to his writing. Other notable books include Kafka on the Shore, 1Q84, and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.
